Physiological
and biochemical changes under environmental stress conditions
(salt, drought, heat) in lentil varieties Effect of salt stress on
the antioxidant enzyme (superoxide dismutase, catalase, ascorbate
peroxidase, glutathione reductase) activities Effect of salt
stress on lipid peroxidation and cell membrane stability
Osmoprotectants and their roles under stress conditions.
Professional Skills
Native,
denaturating and 2-D gel electrophoresis techniques, negative
activity staining for determination SOD isoenzymes, silver
staining, chlorophyll content determination and PS-II activity
assay, proline content determination, spectrophotometric methods
for determination of enzyme activities (ascorbate peroxidase,
glutathione reductase, catalase, nitrate reductase),
chromatographic techniques (paper, gel filtration, ion-exchange),
western blot analysis, qualitative and quantitative protein
determination by several methods
